Taurer (1.500 M) - Dabaklamm – BergeralmWalking time app. 1 hour
This is an easy, family-friendly and popular hike, which starts at the parking lot of the Dorfertal (app. 300 m before the hotel Taurerwirt) and leads to the entrance of the valley and the welcome spot of the National Park Hohe Tauern. Along the gravel road you will be leaded into the canyon of the Dabaklamm and experience the power of the whitewater. After a hike of about half an hour the canyon turns into a mellow alpine valley where you will be charmed by alpine pastures in pure nature with old alpine cabins, wooden fences and cattles on green meadows. Within about 1 hour you will arrive the first stop for refreshment and meals.
Bergeralm (1.637 m) – KALSER TauernhausWalking time app. 1 hour
The path is continuing in an easy and moderate way and offers a convenient hike for kids as well for seniors. The valley shows a cultivated landscape made by men and farmed alpine pastures. After another easy hike the next stop is the Kalser Tauernhaus, which invites for refreshment and meals as well. Being alert on your hike you will discover our alpine inhabitants, like chamois, ibex, eagle and even bearded vulture. Taking a look to the right side of the valley you will realise the extensions of the glaciers of Fruschnitz- and Lapawitzkees.
KALSER TAUERNHAUS (1.755 M) – DORFERSEE (1.935 M)Walking time app. 1 hour
Crossing the bridge of the torrent coming from the Lapawitz glacier the well built trail is leading to the Dorfersee. Offering an overwhelming landscape and a romantic mountain lake caused by several landslides, which is perfect as a souvenir photo.
